Preparing a PLCnext Control Function Extension

  • Make sure that your PLCnext Control Function Extension is already executable on your PLCnext Control.
Note: If you want to publish your PLCnext Control Function Extension with a chargeable license, insert the function block LICENSE_STATUS from the "PLCnext Controller" library into your PLCnext Engineer program.
  • Log in to your PLCnext Store account and create a new PLCnext Control Function Extension.
    • To create a new PLCnext Control Function Extension, go to the "Software Products" tab on your profile and click the Create button. 
    • In the submenu that opens, select "PLCnext Control Function Extension".

A new page opens. On this page you have to describe your PLCnext Control Function Extension. 

  • Fill in the mandatory fields:
    • "PLCnext Control Function Extension Name*" 
    • "Version*" 
    • "Description*"
    • "Support email address*"
  • Add an icon.
  • Write down the Firm Code / Product Code of your created PLCnext Control Function Extension. 
    You will need the App Identifier (the combination of Firm Code / Product Code) later when creating the app description file.
Note: If you want to publish your PLCnext Control Function Extension with a chargeable license, add the Firm Code / Product Code to the function block LICENSE_STATUS and activate it. 
  • Save your PLCnext Control Function Extension as a draft. 
    As long as the PLCnext Control Function Extension is saved as a draft, the PLCnext Control Function Extension is not publicly visible and is editable for you at any time.
